Community Service Initiative for Refugee New Moms

For several years I have worked closely with nonprofit New Neighbors Partnership to bring much-needed baby supplies to refugee families in need.

I recently led an initiative in my town on behalf of a group of new moms from countries including Honduras, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. With the help of my family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers, I was able to put together postpartum care packages for these new moms (including a teen mom) and their babies.

Being a new mama can feel extremely isolating — imagine that in addition to having an infant, you had to flee your home country and the life you knew to escape persecution. I am a child of a refugee, a former immigration attorney, a mother, and a social worker who works with hundreds of postpartum women, so this cause is especially close to my heart. Thank you for your support!
